Ken Long has been passionate about mountain biking since 1983. Growing up in the beach cities of South Orange County, he started surfing when he was twelve years old, “The freedom and nature of both sports have strong similarities”. Ken has been riding the trails of the greater Lake Tahoe areas for over eighteen years and has witnessed the expansion and development of the vast trail systems available. “Tahoe/Truckee riding is unique in that the best rides are putting together many pieces of trails that produce an epic experience”. Ken’s favorite thing is to share the wonders that the area’s trail system has to offer. “I just love to watch the expression on people’s faces when they are exposed
to the beauty and excitement of the sport of mountain biking”. As a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Ken’s care and preparedness will insure that every outing is a fun and safe trip. Besides mountain biking and surfing, Ken’s interest includes skiing, rock climbing, golf, and hiking. As managing partner of Tahoe Mountain Guides, Ken will assess a groups needs and provide the perfect package to insure the best tour possible.

NINA PORCELLI FENN
With a warm, bright smile across her face, Nina shares an infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors. “Being outside is my passion. Bringing the outside into people’s hearts is my life’s work.” Swimming in the waters and trekking though the woods of Lake Tahoe as a young girl, Nina developed a keen appreciation for the power of nature on the body and mind. With a concentration in mountain biking, telemark skiing, hiking, and stand up paddle boarding, she aims to bring people to the most beautiful places in Lake Tahoe, provide people with a sense of personal accomplishment, and create friendships that last a lifetime. Touring with Nina is like eating a five-course meal. She’ll ask you to breath in the aroma of the sun-baked mule’s ears along the meadows edge, inform you of how Lake Tahoe was formed and what type of bird that is chirping over there, lead you to the top of the most sensational, breathtaking views, provide you with the skill set to enjoy your mountain bike experience, guide you through key stretches to aid your mountain bike muscles, and share the pure joy of food and drink after a glorious day on the trail. Indeed, Nina loves the outside and wants to share it with you!

Bobbi grew up in the high desert of Southern California, but soon realized her desire to live in the mountains. Moving between ski resort towns, chasing the snow, she finally ended up in Tahoe in 2005 and fell in love with the area. The urge for travel and adventure has taken her away from Tahoe from time to time, but the beauty and world class mountain biking keeps bringing her back. After discovering a true passion for the sport of mountain biking she worked as a bike mechanic for over 6 years, learning both bike mechanics and bike skills. She loves to share the sport of cycling with as many people as possible, and would love to see more women empowered to ride mountain bikes. With a great knowledge of local trails, ability to fix mechanical problems, and as a certified WFR, you are set to have a spectacular day on the singletrack with Bobbi!
Alex moved to Tahoe about 5 and a half years ago from the Washington D.C. area, mainly for the skiing. However, when summer came around mountain biking quickly became a serious addiction. He started off spending time at Northstar’s bike park, but soon found himself spending an equal amount of time pedaling the local trails. Alex genuinely enjoys most mountain and outdoor sports as some of his other interest include: climbing, surfing and he is fortunate to live within a few hundred yards from KT22 chairlift. Needless to say, skiing is a big hobby of his, too. During the winter you can find him working as a ski tech at the Sports Exchange in Truckee.
